2026 Drillbotics competition results

The 2026 Drillbotics competition cycle is complete. Final results have been published for Mode Physical (P) and Mode Virtual (V).

Mode Physical (P): ITBA placed 1st; TU Clausthal and NTNU share joint 2nd place.
Mode Virtual (V): the Palawan State University / Sunway University collaboration placed 1st; UMaT Well Control is runner-up.

The 2027 Drillbotics rules will be published later in 2026, with notable changes expected.

This site hosts the official Drillbotics® competition guidelines in a versioned, diff-friendly format.

How to Use This Site¶

Use the version switcher (top-left) to browse historical releases (e.g., 2024) or the latest.
Navigate by Tracks using the updated naming: Mode Virtual (V) and Mode Physical (P). Abbreviations Mode V and Mode P are used where space is tight.
Check Changelog for human-readable summaries. For line-level diffs, use GitHub’s History.

2025.1 Highlights¶

Tracks are standardized to Mode Virtual (V) and Mode Physical (P). Short labels “Mode V / Mode P” are used in tight UI.
Timeline windows are set for 2025–2026. See the live schedule for exact dates.
Rules and scoring have been updated, including an optional Edge‑AI Bonus (≤10% default; ≤15% committee max).

Prizes are being actively reworked and improved for this cycle. Beyond the SPE/IADC paper publication opportunity, we expect to include additional forms of recognition, subject to available budget. More updates to come.
